At its special meeting on Dec. 2nd, the District 153 Board of Education announced its unanimous selection of Dr. Teresa Hill as the school district’s next superintendent. Dr. Hill currently serves as superintendent of South Holland School District 151. She will assume leadership of District 153 on July 1, 2026.
“We are excited to welcome Dr. Hill to our school community!” said Alex Bosch, President of the Homewood 153 School Board. “The school board has spent many weeks gathering data and listening to our community’s ideas about the next superintendent. Dr. Hill’s resume checked all those boxes, but it was her enthusiastic vision for District 153 that convinced us that we had found the right person for the job. We believe Dr. Hill’s background, experience, and passion for education will continue to allow all our students to grow and thrive."
“It is an honor to join Homewood 153. I look forward to meeting with students, staff, families, business leaders, and community members over the next few months and listening to their ideas, hopes, and dreams for the children of this community,” Dr. Hill said. “Together, we will write the next chapter for Homewood 153 and continue to focus on what matters most - providing every child with an outstanding education in a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment; recruiting, retaining, and supporting high-quality teachers and staff; exercising fiscal responsibility; and strengthening relationships within District 153 and the broader community.”
Hill has dedicated her career to public education, serving Illinois districts for over 27 years as a kindergarten teacher, assistant principal, principal, assistant superintendent, and Superintendent. She holds a doctorate in educational administration, a master’s degree in educational administration, and a bachelor’s degree in elementary education, all from Illinois State University.
Hill and her husband, Bishop Anthony Hill, live in Flossmoor.
