Teacher Info
Andy Slivka - Art (Send e-mail)
I currently teach art to all kindergarten, first and second grade classes.
In kindergarten, the students focus on a variety of art projects that will center around development of their fine motor skills. Drawing, coloring, cutting, pasting/gluing and folding are some of the important skills that the kids will learn.
In first grade, we focus a great deal of attention on color and the elements of art and principles of design in hopes of developing their proficiency in those areas. I will also help develop their motor skills through the usage of a variety of tools and materials. We also learn about various methods used to create specific artworks and the movements that some of those similar works were apart of in art history.
In second grade, the students will further develop their understanding of the content they have already learned in kindergarten and first grade, expanding on that information by completing various projects and assignments. These students will also have the opportunity to try various mediums within their projects which will expose them to new art experiences. |
