Physical Education Department Mission Statement:

"All students will be trained in the process of becoming physically fit, active and healthy for life."

Uniforms

  • Inside uniforms: HSD 153 logo shirt and shorts.
  • Outside uniforms: HSD 153 logo shirt, shorts, sweatshirt or sweatpants.
  • Uniforms may be purchased at SportsForum, Homewood, IL.
Pool

From the end of May until the end of the school year, students will walk to Lions Club Pool for Phys Ed class. Students are aaked to bring a plastic bag with a swimsuit, towel, sunscreen, and comb or brush to school with them. Girls will wear a one piece swimsuit or tankini. NO BIKINIS. Boys will wear swim trunks with mesh liner. NO REGULAR SHORTS. Life guards will be present along with the Phys Ed teachers.

Bones & Muscles

5th grade:

Students need to know the scientific names of the following bones and muscles. Bones: Cranium, Mandible, Clavicle, Ribs, Sternum, Scapula, Humerus, Radius, Ulna, Pelvis, Vertebrae, Femur, Tibia, Fibula, Metacarpals, Metatarsals, and Patella. Muscles: Abs, Glutes, Biceps, Triceps, and Quads.

6th Grade:

Students need to know the scientific names of the following bones and muscles. Bones: Mandible, Clavicle, Sternum, Scapula, Humerus, Radius, Ulna, Vertebrae, Femur, Tibia, Fibula, Metacarpals, Metatarsals, and Patella. Muscles: Abs, Glutes, Biceps, Triceps, Hamstrings, Gastrocs, Deltoids and Quads. Stretches: Students will need to know how to stretch their Quads, Hamstrings, Triceps and Gastrocs.
