Band

Students in 5th Grade Cadet Band begin to develop foundational techniques needed to successfully perform an instrument in an ensemble. Students learn how to properly play an instrument while also developing skills in rhythm, note reading, balance, blend, pitch, and other ensemble techniques. Cadet Band is open to all 5th grade students who wish to participate.

Students in 6th Grade Varsity Band continue to develop the techniques needed to successfully perform an instrument in an ensemble. Students continue to properly play their instrument while continuing to develop their skills in rhythm, note reading, balance, blend, pitch, and other ensemble techniques. Students in 6th grade Varsity Band also learn their 12 Major Scales in preparation for Symphonic Band. Varsity Band is open to all students who have completed one year in Cadet Band.
