Here at the Willow Library we will reinforce the good habits your child has learned at home:
1. How to handle books carefully;
2. How to keep books in a safe place;
3. How to return books to the library on time.
As well as:
• Examining the parts of a book;
• Introducing new authors;
• Exploring the many genres. Frequently Asked QuestionsQ: How many books can my child check out?
A. Students in kindergarten can select out one book each week. First and second grade students may select two books each week.
Q. When should my child return his/her library book(s)?
A. Library books are due the day before the student’s library day. Returning them then allows us to check in material prior to your student attending library and to run the necessary reports.
Q. What happens if my child forgets to return his/her book?
A. Students with overdue books will not be able to check out a book until everything has been returned.
Q. Will my child be charged a fine for this late book?
A. All students will be charged a fine for late materials. Students in grades K, 1 & 2 are charged a penny a day for all late books. There is no grace period for overdue items.
Q. What happens if my child looses or damages a library book?
A. Your child will be charged the cost for replacement of this book. This also applies for damaged books. No other book can be checked out until this amount is paid.
We look forward to sharing the love of reading with your child.
