Art ClubThursdays from 3:15 – 4:45
Sponsor: Ms. Cornelius
Students will extend their art experience to more complex forms of sculpture, painting and drawing. We will work with everything from found objects to conventional materials and techniques. Highlights include clay pottery (glazed and fired in a Kiln), perspective drawing, and an acrylic painting on canvas. Art club will be open to the first twenty five 5th and 6th graders and will provide both structured projects and room for independent study.

Band BuddiesTuesday and Thursday from 3:20 – 4:00
Sponsor: Ms. Tallungan
The Band Buddies program is aimed at providing after-school tutoring to Cadet Band students (students in their 1st year of band). Tutoring is provided by selected James Hart and Millennium students. Band Buddies meets Tuesday and Thursday from 3:15-4:00pm. Students choose either Tuesday or Thursday and attend on that day every other week. Band Buddies begins in October and ends in May.

Books and BagelsMonday and Thursday from 7:43 – 8:20
Sponsor: Ms. Stenning
Do you love great books? Do you love great food? Do you love talking? If your answer to these questions is “yes”, then you will be thrilled to know about Books and Bagels Club that will begin in October. The members of the Books & Bagels Club will be reading great books, and participating in thought-provoking discussions, while enjoying scrumptious snacks.
Books and Bagels is open to 5th and 6th grade students.

Computer ClubThursday from 3:20 – 4:30
Sponsor: Ms. Revis
Interested in computers and other new technologies? Then join the Computer Club with Mrs. Revis. The purpose of the club is to introduce and expand student knowledge of programs not taught in the regular technology curriculum in school. In the past students have created talking books, clay animation movies, made characters come to life with Vox Proxy, and even created their own games using Gamemaker. The club is open to both 5th and 6th grade students.

Craft Club3rd Thursday of the month from 3:20 – 4:20
Sponsor: Ms. Ziering
We will make a craft a month. Materials used will vary from feathers, fun foam, Styrofoam, puzzle pieces, paper, "found items", and more. Craft Club is an opportunity to learn new craft ideas, express your creative side and have fun.
Craft Club is open to 5th & 6th grade students.

Eagle AuthorsMonday from 7:30 – 8:20 and
Tuesday from 3:15 – 4:15
Sponsors: Ms. Hovan and Ms. Olson
The focus of this club will be two fold. 1) Participants will engage in poetry and creative writing. Students will also learn and participate in the process of submitting work in hopes of being publishes in outside sources. 2) The club members will be responsible for putting together and publishing a literary arts magazine comprised of Millennium students’ writings and artwork. The literary magazine will be made available for purchase at the school year’s end.
Eagle Authors is open to 5th and 6th grade students.

Early Act ClubThursday from 3:15 – 4:15
Sponsor: Ms. Gnatt
At Millennium School, 5th grade students will have the opportunity to join the Early Act Club. This club is under the advisor ship of Mrs. Gnatt, 5th grade teacher, and is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Homewood. The mission of Early Act is to provide goodwill, understanding and peace through projects that will benefit their school, local and global communities.
Early Act encourages students to be caring and helpful while promoting understanding, respect and the building of friendships among the club members.

Guys Read ClubFirst and third Tuesdays from 3:15 – 4:15
Sponsor: Mr. McAtee
Guys Read Club is open to all 5th and 6th grade boys. The club will focus on the interests of boys. The members will help decide the literacy topics. Some examples include newspapers, non-fiction, magazines, electronic media, and novels.

Math ClubWednesday from 3:20 – 4:45
Sponsor: Ms. Cassidy
Math Club is open to all 5th and 6th grade students. It offers the opportunity to get math help from their peers, as well as provides students with the chance to strengthen and enrich skills they have already mastered through a variety of games and tournaments. The club is student driven and has an emphasis on student discovery. It is designed for students to have fun while participating in math related activities.

Newspaper ClubWednesday from 3:20 – 4:00
Sponsor: Ms. Anderson and Ms. Sissel
Millennium students under the direction of staff will report the news from the Eagle’s Nest. This new club will reflect our Millennium community through the eyes of our students.

Storytelling ClubTuesday from 3:20 - 4:15
Sponsor: Mr. Weiss
Beginning in September, the club will meet once a week, after school in room 49, from 3:20 - 4:15, day to be determined. Students will learn the dramatic art of storytelling and even see professional storytellers. There will be a public performance of the student storytellers in the spring and possibly other performance opportunities/field trips, as they arise.
Storytelling club is open to 5th and 6th Graders.

Student CouncilFirst and Third Tuesdays from 7:45 – 8:20
Sponsors: Ms. Jacobs and Ms. Nigro
The objectives of Student Council are as follows:
1) To promote student involvement in the community
2) To foster school spirit
3) To develop leadership skills
Student Council is open to 5th and 6th grade students.

YearbookThursday from 7:45 – 8:20
Sponsors: Ms. Davis and Ms. Demarco
Open to 5th and 6th Grader students.
The main objective of the Eagle Yearbook Club is to put together the Millennium yearbook which is distributed at the end of the school year. In addition to organizing the final product, the club members are also involved in other components of publishing such as photography, computer layout, and creating a memory book for their homeroom teacher.
