Welcome to 5th-8th Physical Education!

Physical Education Department Mission Statement:

"All students will be trained in the process of becoming physically fit, active and healthy for life."

Important Dates

September 26, 2009: Special Olympics Il Area 7 Volleyball Tournament, 8am - 3pm

To volunteer to be be a volleyball official, scorekeeper or court monitor, please contact Nancy Hoekstra at Nanhoek750@aol.com.


Bones, Muscles and Stretches

7th grade: Students need to know the scientific names of the following bones and muscles.

Bones: Clavicle, Sternum, Scapula, Humerus, Radius, Ulna, Vertebrae, Femur, Tibia, Fibula, Metacarpals, Metatarsals, and Patella.

Muscles: Abs, Glutes, Biceps, Triceps, Hamstrings, Gastrocs, Pecs, Deltoids, Latissimus Dorsi, Gracilis and Quads.

Stretches: Students will need to know how to stretch their Deltoid, Quads, Hamstrings, Biceps, Triceps, Gracilis, Pecs, Lats and Gastrocs.



8th Grade: Students need to know the scientific names of the following bones and muscles.

Uniforms

Inside uniforms: HSD 153 logo shirt and shorts.
Outside uniforms: HSD 153 logo shirt, shorts, sweatshirt or
sweatpants.

Uniforms may be purchased at SportsForum, Homewood, IL.

Pool

Starting May 24, 2010, students will be walking to Lions Club Pool for Phys Ed class until the end of school.

Students are aaked to bring a plastice bag with a swimsuit, towel, sunsreen,comb or brush to school with them.

Girls attire: 1 piece or tankini NO BIKINI'S
No shirts or shorts in the pool.

Boy's attire: Swim trunks with mesh liner. NO REGULAR SHORTS

Life Guards will be there along with the Phys Ed teachers.
